North Star Earns National WBENC CertificationAugust 29, 2006
Agency recognized as Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE).
NO KINGSTOWN, RI. North Star Marketing, a leading full-service marketing & public relations company, was recently certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise Council, the nation’s primary third-party certifier of WBEs.
“WBENC put us through a very thorough review to ensure that they were certifying a company that was truly women owned and operated,” said April Williams, President and Visionary of North Star. “They held us to the highest standards and we are proud of this significant accomplishment.”
North Star was founded in 1997 by Williams, who left corporate America to fulfill her dream of starting her own marketing firm. North Star took off quickly, achieving success for clients with a unique approach to marketing and public relations and keeping employees happy with a special appreciation for flexibility and job satisfaction.
As a result of their certification, North Star will now be eligible to apply for contracts with more than 700 corporations whose management has indicated they will seek to work with WBEs.
