Pilgrim Screw CorporationInsight Established in 1932, Pilgrim Screw Corporation is the premier manufacturer of Military Specification AN/MS/NAS threaded fasteners including machine screws, tapping screws, OEM standards and specials-to-print. Adhering to the highest standards and certified to ISO9001, the company prides itself on designing products to solve clients’ toughest fastening problems.
Action Through funding from the Department of Defense’s Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR), Pilgrim Screw developed a better performing structural panel fastener. On May 15, 2007, Pilgrim Screw found out that its structural panel fastener was smaller, stronger, lighter, more cost effective, better performing, and met the Department of Defense Solicitation Topic N00-096. This meant that their panel fastener was better than any other on the market today.
Pilgrim Screw asked North Star Marketing to help them prepare for the biggest presentation of their fastener to Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD.
Solution Knowing that the NAVAIR presentation was a major opportunity for Pilgrim Screw to demonstrate its world class capabilities to key decision makers, North Star Marketing developed a package worthy of a leading manufacturer. This was the first time the company had developed collateral material beyond their corporate brochure.
North Star Marketing was involved in every aspect of the preparation, from helping the company name the fastener (Pi2) to creating a corporate look to developing key messaging and writing copy. The final meeting package included a pocket folder, PowerPoint presentation, company sell sheet, product sell sheet, and SBIR process sell sheet.
Results On August 21, 2007, Pilgrim Screw presented to NAVAIR. It was a successful meeting on several fronts. Meeting attendees were very impressed with the presentation materials which positioned Pilgrim Screw as a serious competitor. The proposal is under consideration by NAVAIR and Pilgrim Screw hopes to hear soon of its acceptance. |
