Everyone loves a winnerMay 16, 2008One of the most credible messages anyone can receive about your company comes from an outside source honoring your business. Business awards can generate favorable public recognition of your company and get you great PR. Even if you don't win, you're getting your business in front of a group of judges who could be prospects and referral sources.
Look around for the right fit. There are many types of awards out there. Some are industry specific, some recognize excellence in a specific age group or by gender, and some honor businesses on a local level. Look into local chambers of commerce, business associations, and even media outlets to see if they offer awards.
Pick your submissions wisely. Before you spend time applying, determine if the award will add value and exposure to your business. Many awards will showcase your business online and in the media if you do in fact win.
Shout it from the rooftops. Once you've won an award, let everyone know. Send a press release to the local media, post it on your website and announce it in your eNewsletter. Be sure to list it on the promotional material you use to grow your business, such as your leave-behind and overview brochure, and display the actual award prominently in your office. |
