Trade shows are great for business networking. They are often a good way to meet business prospects and vendors, and can help build your consumer base. However, failing to prepare correctly can result in a missed opportunity. Here are some trade show preparation tips to get you on the right track.

 

Compass 6.6.08Know who is attending: Who is exhibiting? Who is sponsoring? See if you can get an attendee list to make a plan of action. Contact prospects ahead of time to see if you can arrange a time to meet at the show.

 

Identify who would be a great target for you: It's easy to get overwhelmed by the number of companies that attend a trade show. Beforehand, determine who could use your service. Make sure to single out only those who would be a good fit for you.

 

Research the companies you have identified as good targets: Who are the major players in the company? Which products and services do they need? Be prepared to talk about their needs in relation to your solutions.
