  1. Determine the most appropriate team for the occasion and audience.
  2. Give clear guidelines for professional behavior. Remind them they are at an event to work and help build business.
  3. Brief the team on key marketing messages - perfect your 30 second commercial.
  4. Make sure they are clear on the dress code for the event.
  5. Make sure the team knows who will be at the event and encourage them to network with guests and converse about key messages.
  6. Ask them to help guests make connections with each other, looking for those who are not talking with anyone.
  7. Task them to spend 74% of their time with people they don't know and keep guests informed about what's happening at the event.
  8. Encourage the team to eat prior to the event so they have plenty of time to focus on guests. Also remind them that they should have minimal to no alcohol.
  9. Have them move around the room and watch for potential issues, i.e. not enough chairs or schedule delays.
  10. Empower your team to wow each and every guest at your event.

Bonus Tip: Remind your team that every interaction is an opportunity to sell the company!
