Elena Falcone-Relvas Named New PR AficionadoJuly 1, 2009
North Star Marketing, one of Rhode Island’s leading marketing and public relations firms, has enhanced its PR services with the appointment of Elena Falcone-Relvas as PR Aficionado. Falcone-Relvas will lead the public relations department and direct a variety of North Star PR accounts that span state agencies, educational institutions, the automotive, construction and realty industries, and the medical field.“We are rapidly growing the PR side of our business, a service that becomes increasingly more important during difficult economic times such as these,” said April Williams, North Star president and visionary. “Elena’s comprehensive experience in numerous industry sectors, coupled with her strategic thinking and extensive communications, writing, and media relations expertise, make her a fundamental member of our team.” A resident of Richmond, RI, Falcone-Relvas is responsible for all facets of public relations at North Star Marketing including the account strategy, implementation, and media outreach involved with launching new companies, products and product lines, and services and initiatives. She also drives North Star’s internal PR initiatives and manages publicity efforts for all clients with regards to reputation management, corporate announcements, and community relations. Falcone-Relvas, a Cranston native, previously worked at Duffy & Shanley, Inc. for over 10 years, winning multiple outstanding achievement honors from the Publicity Club of New England’s Bell Ringer Awards. She developed and executed strategic public relations plans and campaigns, including special events, and provided strategic client counsel and thought leadership in the public relations space. Prior to that, Falcone-Relvas served as Acting and Deputy Press Secretary to Governor Lincoln C. Almond. She also served as Deputy Director of Communications for the Executive Office of Communities and Development in Boston and worked as a newspaper reporter and writer. Falcone-Relvas received a BA in Communications and Political Science from Simmons College in Boston.
