As 2009 comes to an end, it's the perfect time to re-assess your company's online presence. Your website is often times your first interaction with prospects, and can be a very powerful tool. Use our simple 10-question Website Checkup below to see if your website is positioning your company online the way you intend it to:
- Is the primary action you want the visitor to take clear when visiting your site?
- Does your online presence match your offline customer experience?
- Are all of your products and/or services currently listed on your site?
- Can a visitor determine what you do by viewing your homepage?
- Do visitors understand where they are in the site at all times?
- Is the news on your site fresh and timely?
- Is your website living up to your competitor's website?
- Is your contact info readily available?
- What shortcomings exist with your current website?
- Lastly, pick three adjectives to describe how the visitor should perceive your site (ex: friendly, corporate, fun, forward thinking, innovative, etc). Is your site living up to that?
Remember, you control your website's content - keeping your user engaged and interested should be your priority! If you build it, they may come, but what keeps them coming back again and again?
