Avoid the clutter

February 12, 2010

With the growing number of websites, blogs, billboards, direct mail, RSS feeds, and more, consumers are bombarded with marketing messages, new products and services, and unbelievable offers on a daily basis. Business owners and marketing professionals are challenged with finding new and unique ways to reach consumers. Here are a few ways to cut through the clutter:

Target your offer: It's better to send a more targeted offer or message to a smaller group of consumers you know are interested then sending it to every possible mailing or email address you have in your database.

Try a different medium: Many industries can have standard ways of communicating that can be overwhelming for their audience. For instance, one of North Star's clients, Pilgrim Screw, a leading producer of screws, bolts, and specialty fasteners for the aerospace industry, chose email - a unique medium for their industry - and saw immediate click thru rates of up to 10%!

Don't forget three-dimensions: Who doesn't love receiving a package? If you want to get noticed by business decision-makers send relevant, stand out, three-dimensional direct mail. It can significantly increase response.
